NGLA educates leaders from a variety of fraternal experiences to transform and empower their community and align actions with values.

The mission of NGLA is advanced by our team of volunteers ranging from students to higher education professionals. Volunteering for NGLA is a great opportunity to learn about conference and association management, meet fellow fraternity & sorority members, and network with higher education and fraternal professionals. Volunteers are expected to uphold NGLA policies and procedures, including the NGLA Code of Conduct.

There are opportunities to volunteer remotely as well as on-site in Baltimore, MD for the 2022 NGLA Annual Conference. Volunteer opportunities include but are not limited to: Assessment, Awards, Delegation Outreach and Support, Educational Programming, Marketing, Registration, Technology, Scholarship.

NGLA Annual Conference Team

Virtual Experience

*New* Virtual Experience Coordinator - The Virtual Experience Coordinator is responsible for managing the Virtual Experience of the 2022 NGLA Annual Conference. This person participates in the design of the Virtual Experience and oversees the execution of its plans. This person also co-supervises the Educational Programming Assistant Chair and supports the Technology Coordinator. The Virtual Experience Coordinator must have the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, delegate responsibilities, and manage a small-sized team. The Virtual Experience Coordinator must have previous experience with conference educational programming.

The responsibilities for this position are year round with peak times during August through October, and early January through February. This person must be available for remote support throughout the Virtual Experience of the 2022 NGLA Annual Conference.

Awards

NGLA Awards Judge - An NGLA Awards Judge assists with the selection of NGLA Awards recipients. This person is responsible for reviewing NGLA Awards applications and providing feedback that is used to select the recipients as well as to educate applicants about ways their application could be improved.

The responsibilities for this position are early January through early February.

Delegation Outreach and Support

*New* Delegation Outreach and Support Chair - The Delegation Outreach and Support Chair collaborates with the Board of Directors and Registration Chair to expand the impact of NGLA. This person participates in the design and execution of outreach initiatives. This person also coordinates support for community members as needed. The Delegation Outreach and Support Chair supervises the Delegation Outreach and Support Committee. This person must have the ability to manage multiple relationships with the NGLA community simultaneously, delegate responsibilities, and manage a small-sized team. The Delegation Outreach and Support Chair must be familiar with the NGLA Annual Conference.

The responsibilities for this position are year around with peak times during August through October and February.

*New* Delegation Outreach and Support Committee - The Delegation Outreach and Support Committee collaborates with the Delegation Outreach and Support Chair to expand the impact of NGLA. This person participates in the execution of outreach initiatives. This person must have the ability to manage multiple relationships with the NGLA community simultaneously. The Delegation Outreach and Support Committee must be familiar with the NGLA Annual Conference.

The responsibilities for this position are year around with peak times during August through October and February.

Educational Programming

*New* Educational Programming Assistant Chair - The Educational Programming Assistant Chair collaborates with the Educational Programming Chair to manage all educational content for the NGLA Annual Conference. This person oversees strategic educational programming on-site during the NGLA Annual Conference. The Educational Programming Assistant Chair is responsible for managing educational programming for the Virtual Experience of the 2022 NGLA Annual Conference. This person must have the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. The Educational Programming Assistant Chair must have previous experience with conference educational programming.

The responsibilities for this position are year round with peak times during September through November, and late January through February. The Educational Programming Assistant Chair is expected to attend regularly scheduled meetings with their volunteer supervisor as well as the Conference Committee. This person must be available for remote as well as on-site support of the NGLA Annual Conference.

Educational Programming Selection Committee - The Educational Programming Selection Committee assists with the selection of educational programming for the NGLA Annual Conference. This Committee is responsible for reviewing program proposals and providing feedback that is used to select the programs as well as educate applicants on ways their proposal could be improved.

The responsibilities for this position are September through October.

Coordinator of Lectorials - The Coordinator of Lectorials is responsible for managing the Lectorials on R.A.C.E. as well as the Lectorials on C.H.A.N.G.E.. This person participates in the selection of programming and oversees planning of the programs. The Coordinator of Lectorials must have the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

The responsibilities for this position are year round with peak time in February.

Coordinator of Order of Omega Case Study Competition - The Coordinator of Order of Omega Case Study Competition is responsible for managing the Order of Omega Case Study Competition during the NGLA Annual Conference. This person collaborates with the Order of Omega to plan the program, which includes but is not limited to soliciting case studies, recruiting and training judges, and overseeing the program.

The responsibilities for this position are year round with peak time in February. The Coordinator of Order of Omega Case Study Competition must be available for on-site support during the program at the NGLA Annual Conference.

Registration

*New* Registration Coordinator - The Registration Coordinator works closely with the Registration Chair to manage the NGLA Annual Conference registration process. This person provides registration-related customer support to our community including but not limited to completing or adjusting registrations. The Registration Coordinator supports the Registration Desk at the NGLA Annual Conference. This person must have strong written and verbal communication skills.

The responsibilities for this position are year around with peak times during January and February. The Registration Coordinator must be available for on-site support throughout the NGLA Annual Conference.

Technology

*New* Technology Coordinator - The Technology Coordinator manages all technology needs for the Virtual Experience of the NGLA Annual Conference. Responsibilities include but are not limited to preparing and managing the electronic program guide, arranging A/V for all sessions, and troubleshooting A/V during the Virtual Experience of the NGLA Annual Conference.

The responsibilities for this position are year around with peak times during January and February. The Technology Coordinator is expected to attend regularly scheduled meetings with their volunteer supervisor. This person must be available for remote support of the Virtual Experience of NGLA Annual Conference.

NGLA Volunteer Team

Assessment

Assessment Chair - The Assessment Chair collaborates with the Board of Directors to conduct assessment of the NGLA Annual Conference as well as other Association initiatives. This person must have strong analytical skills and a background in assessment.

The responsibilities for this position are year around with peak times from January through March.

Marketing

*New* Communications Chair - The Communications Coordinator collaborates with the Operations Manager, Secretary, and other roles as appropriate to prepare publications, guides, and other resources for the NGLA community. Responsibilities include but are not limited to writing content as well as proofreading content for spelling & grammar and formatting. This person must have strong communication skills.

The responsibilities for this position are year around.

*New* Social Media Chair - The Social Media Chair collaborates with the Operations Manager, Secretary, and other roles as appropriate to share information via social media. Responsibilities include but are not limited to writing and scheduling content. This person must have in-depth knowledge of social media platforms.

Scholarship

Scholarship Chair - The Scholarship Chair is responsible for managing the NGLA Scholarship process with the Board of Directors. This person participates in the design of the application and coordinates the administration of NGLA Scholarships. This person also supervises the Scholarship Committee (see below for description of Scholarship Committee).

The responsibilities for this position are primarily September and October as well as mid-January through February.

Scholarship Committee - A Scholarship Committee member assists with the selection of NGLA Awards recipients. This person is responsible for reviewing NGLA Scholarship applications and providing feedback that is used to select the recipients.

The responsibilities for this position are early January through early February.
